Muslims in the NT
The Northern Territory shares a unique connection with Muslim culture, dating back to recorded interactions between First Nations people and Muslims predating colonization. Evidence of Muslim trading remnants has been discovered in the NT, underscoring this historical connection. The Muslim community in the region is notably diverse, comprising 27 different ethnicities. Indonesia, the largest Muslim country globally, stands as the nearest nation to the Northern Territory. UMNT serves as a central figure in the region, uniting the rich cultural heritage and service-related history of Muslims in the NT.
UMNT has implemented a new access control system from the 16th of January 2025 at its Darwin CBD Musalla. UMMT continually endeavors to cater to the Darwin CBD worshipers while ensuring safe and equitable access to the premises.
