The mosque, originally built by Afghan immigrants in Australia in late 18th century, closed during World War II and rebuilt in 1993.

Islamic Society of Darwin (ISD)
Formerly known as Islamic Society of Northern Territory (ISNT)ISNT successfully acquired 1.2 acres of land in Wanguri that was later developed into the Darwin Mosque.

Alice Springs Islamic Society (ASIS)
Afghan Mosque rebuilt and operated by ASIS by the help of members from ISD.

Islamic Council of Northern Territory (ICNT)
A subsidiary of the AFIC, advocating for Islamic societies in the NT. ICNT has played a key role in Muslim suitable cemetery provisions in Darwin.

Islamic Society of Palmerston (ISP)
Established in 2002, ISP has been catering to the increasing Muslim population in the Palmerston region. Currently fundraising for their expansion.

Charles Darwin University Muslim Student Association (CDUMSA)
Formerly known as CDUMSSEstablish to serve the CDU Muslim students. Conducting many social and spiritual events.

UMNT Incorporated
An independent body focused on providing essential services to the NT community. Also established the first Darwin CBD Musallah in March 2020.

Katherine Musalla
Established by UMNT. Now operating independently by the Islamic Society of Katherine.

Australian International Islamic College, Darwin Campus (AIIC)
The first Islamic school in the NT established in Berrimah.

Zikkies, National Zakat Foundation
Zikkies Community Centre with NZF office and Op shop. Ceased operations in 2024.
