Its primary objective is to reduce the demand for and prevent the uptake of alcohol and other drugs among culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) youth. "Al-Kuhl" is derived from the Arabic word for alcohol. UMNT is committed to addressing the social, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of all Territorians, with a specific focus on individuals from multicultural and CALD backgrounds.

Hayat Sessions | Healing of the Nafs

A program to address the Mental Health issues which eventually lead to Suicidal Thoughts. The sessions included special mentoring of youth aged between 14- 21 by engaging them in important life sessions, skills and moral boosting activities. Numerous seminars were conducted on Mental Health and how to deal with tough times and become even more stronger. The purpose of the project was to spread Positiveness, Hope, Appreciation, Acknowledgement and being thank-full.

Shuyookh Gala Dinner

The Shuyookh Dinner event provides the seniors within the community to socialize, recognize their contributions and promote healthy activities. These events feature presentations on senior health by local GPs.

All Doors Open

A Sports program specifically tailored towards providing a safe space where Muslim men and women can engage and develop their physical capabilities.

This session is a great way to foster active citizenship specifically among young people to develop leadership and communication skills.

The Silent Struggle

A program tailored for international students in the NT to increase awareness and understanding of mental health issues by providing access to resources and support for students struggling with mental health issues. The program consisted of workshops and seminars on mental health-related topics, such as stress management, anxiety, and depression with subject matter experts.

Healthy Minds & Bodies

Engaging the community in physical activity to promote healthy minds and presentations with healthcare professionals informing youth about the current concerns surrounding mental and physical health issues, relationships (maturity) and study pressure.

Positive & Informed Choices | Bar4U

A Youth Initiative to in creating a safe space with sports activities to enable healthy living discussions around AOD prevention and and help with mentors.
